As with an accent table, console and sofa tables don't have to match the other tables in your room. They can of course, but they don't have to. Instead, you can go for a statement piece, choosing something just a little more ornate or embellished to draw attention to it. These tables are designed with this in mind and even though you may find a wallflower or two in the bunch, chances are good that you'll be able to find a table with lots of personality, whether you want something chic and modern or classic and timeless for your home.
If you own your home, you're probably planning to stay there for a while, so you aren't as limited with your choices. The sofa will be the biggest purchase in your living room. Functional Tables. Of course accent tables can also be functional tables, but in some cases it may be better to look for sofa tables that will blend in with the back of the sofa. The reason you might want to do this is so that you do not draw attention to the table itself. Usually tables that blend into the back of the sofa are meant for function rather than decoration, so you will definitely want to look for look for tables that have shelves or drawers. Drawers are great because they allow you to hide some of the clutter around your home, especially when you need to hide it quickly.
The more plain sofa tables are meant to be put up against a wall and offer a little more counter area behind a sofa. But, others are ornate and dressy, meant to be shown off. These are tables that should be set out in an open area of the room with the sofa up against one side of them, but the other side open to be seen by all who pass by.
The furniture we choose for the great room will reflect a lot about us. Try to make your furniture tell a story about the kind of home you have. Modern furniture such as sofas and modern sofa tables can make a room look beautiful all by themselves. Since they have first come out hundreds of years ago, they've been there for our comfort. They used to be used when the family members sat next to the hearth and read. They were used for warmth next to the fireplace as well as a place to situate a reading lamp. Today, modern options are still used for comfort, but they're also used in the décor of our home.
