About ModoGadget
I love technology.
My first computer was an IMSAI, then an Apple IIE. It only got worse from there. I had a Magnavox Odyssey II as my first console then the obligatory NES, SNES, N64, Dream Cast, PS2, XBOX and currently rocking an XBOX 360. I’ve had nearly every major PC evolution starting with the 386 and ending, currently, on a QuadCore Duo “custom” rig.
My first cellphone came in highschool (1992) and I’ve had one ever since. Currently these are my tech interest.
I am a former SIUE Mass Communications major who ran the student newspaper, ”The ALESTLE” as Editor-in-Chief (1999-2000) and founded and ran my own newspaper in the St. Louis, Metroeast area under the title “The Times-Independent” (2000-2001). I also worked for the Belleview News-Democrat in the pagination department for a year or so during this time.
What I do for a living, however, is fly airplanes. I’m an airline pilot. Kind of a 180 there, eh?
I’ve started ModoGadget.com as a tech-blog with a focus on not so much reporting the news - as I can’t really travel to press events to cover them myself - but as a response to the news. A running editorial on why certain decisions matter and why certain decisions don’t. I aim to make most of the content as reasoned as possible but I am know to rant a little, so fair warning.
I’ll make plenty of mistakes, I’ll make plenty of errors, my “editing eye” isn’t as strong as it used to be (and it’s always harder to edit yourself) but I’ll try my hardest to be fair spelling and gramatical mistakes and all.
Take a gander around, if you like what you read pass the word along, if you don’t, let people know that too.
Thanks,
